lck proto-oncogene

The human lck gene has two distinct promoters giving rise to two distinct transcripts. The type I promoter is that depicted in motif & in the line drawing. The type II promoter contains five start sites but no identified regulatory elements. Increased expression of lck is seen in T-cell leukemias & lymphomas and in colon carcinoma.
