serine/threonine protein kinase LATS1; large tumor suppressor homolog 1; WARTS protein kinase; h-warts (LATS1, WARTS)

Function: 1) tumor suppressor involved in maintenance of ploidy via a) mitotic progression b) G1 tetraploidy checkpoint. 2) negatively regulates G2/M transition; down-regulates CDC2 kinase activity 3) regulates actin polymerization; negative modulation of LIMK1 4) complexes with CDC2 in early mitosis 5) binds phosphorylated ZYX, locazing to the mitotic spindle Compartment: - localizes to the centrosomes throughout interphase - migrates to the mitotic spindle during mitosis
