laminoplasty

Indications: - spinal stenosis Clinical significance: - relieves pressure on the spinal cord Procedure: - cutting of the lamina on both sides of the affected vertebrae & swinging the free flap of flap of bone - the enlarged spinal canal is stabilized using small pieces of bone to fix the bone flap in place
