kallikrein

A group of serine proteases derived from prekallikrein. These include: 1) plasma kallikrein 2) tissue kallikrein 3) pancreatic kallikrein 4) urinary kallikrein 5) submandibular kallikrein The kallikreins activate kininogen & factor XII with activation of the contact system.
