isolation of speech areas
Etiology:
1) systemic hypotension or hypoxia
2) cardiac arrest
Pathology:
- ischemic infarction in watershed areas between anterior, middle, & posterior cerebral arteries
Clinical manifestations:
1) parrot-like speech
2) echolalia
3) associated manifestations
a) decreased alertness & responsiveness
b) bilateral leg weakness
