Non pathogenic. Trophozoites:
1) measure 8-20 um, generally 12-15 um
2) sluggishly motile on wet mounts
3) nucleus generally not visible on unstained preparations
4) cytoplasm may contain bacteria, yeast or other material Cysts:
1) ovoid, ellipsoid or trangular in shape
2) 5-20 um in size, generally 10-12 um
3) mature cysts contain a single nucleus
4) prominent vacuole of glycogen which stains reddish-brown with iodine-stained wet mounts
5) no chromatoid bodies
