internal acoustic meatus

Course: - a canal beginning in the posterior cranial fossa passing laterally through the petrous part of the temporal bone to the fundus where a thin plate of bone separates it from the vestibule. Function: It gives passage to: 1) facial nerve (CN VII) 2) vestibulocochlear nerve (CN VIII) 3) labyrinthine artery 4) labyrinthine vein
