inositol-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexaphosphate (IP6, phytic acid)

Inositol-1,3,4,5,6-pentaphosphate & inositol hexaphosphate [IP6] comprise the bulk of the inositol phosphate content of mammalian cells. Function: 1) mRNA export 2) nonhomologous end-joining 3) endocytosis 4) ion channel regulation 5) protects cells from TNF-alpha-induced apoptosis 6) may have anti-carcinogenic properties [2-6] Notes: - Marketed as Inositol & Ca+2, Mg+2 IP6 (InoCell) [7]
