infantile glaucoma

Occurs within the 1st 3 years of life. Glaucoma is considered congenital if present at birth. Etiology: 1) multifactorial inheritance 2) developmental anomaly of the iridocorneal angle Clinical manifestations: 1) corneal clouding 2) excess tearing 3) photophobia 4) blepharospasm 5) corneal enlargement (horizontal diameter > 13 mm) 6) cup/disc ratio > 0.3 or asymmetry of the disc/cup ratio between the 2 eyes 7) irregular corneal reflex Laboratory: - see ARUP consult [2] Management: 1) surgery 2) laser trabeculoplasty 3) goniotomy
