nondeclarative (implicit) memory

- generally subconscious - limbic-independent process - the hallmark of implicit memory is a change in performance attributable to information acquired during a specific prior episode - on a test that does not require conscious recollection of the episode - implicit memory is specialized for incremental & cumulative changes, with new associations formed subconsciously after many repetitions. * - Implicit memory includes: a) procedural memory (skills) b) priming memory c) associative memory (classical conditioning & operant conditioning) d) nonassociative memory
