Indications:
- monoclonal gammopathy
- allows for identification of monoclonal antibody in terms of immunoglobulin class (eg IgG, IgM, IgA) & immunoglobulin subclass (eg IgG1, IgG2 ...)
Procedure:
- after separation of components by electrophoresis, addition of antibodies or antisera fix antigen-antibody complexes while unbound components are washed from gel
