Clinical manifestations:
1) generally history of overuse
2) pain in the anterior hip region
3) slight flexion of the hip with external rotation may relieve pain
4) tenderness is localized to the lateral border of the femoral triangle under the inguinal ligament
5) hip flexion against resistance should exacerbate the symptoms
