interleukin-17 (IL-17)

A family of inflammatory cytokines including: 1) IL17A 2) IL17B 3) IL17C 4) IL17D 5) IL17E 6) IL17F Pharmacology: - IL17 antibody (ixekizumab) is effective in treatment of psoriasis [1] - effect may be mediated through IL17A since antibody to IL17A receptor (brodalumab) is also effective in treatment of psoriasis [2] Pathology: - linked to multiple sclerosis, psoriasis & other autoimmune disorders [4]
