herd immunity
Diminished risk of disease (perceived immunity) from living among others (the herd) that do not have the disease, most popularly as a result of previous infection or vaccination, going so far as to predict that the level of vaccination needed to achieve herd immunity varies by disease but ranges from 83-94%. Not true immunity.
