Epidemiology:
- most common benign tumor of the liver.
Pathology: benign
Radiology:
1) hyperechoic lesion by ultrasound
2) confirm with
a) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or
b) contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT)
- peripheral nodular enhancement
- progressive centripetal contrast enhancemtn
2) technetium-labeled RBC scan
Management:
1) follow-up ultrasound in 6 months
2) in general, avoid biopsy due to bleeding risk, except
- fine needle aspiration, biopsy or resection if lesion enlarges
