Indications: - alternative agent for treatment of chloroquine-resistant malaria * potential to be repurposed as COVID-19 therapy [3] Contraindications: pregnancy Dosage: 1) 8 mg/kg repeated at 6 & 12 hours 2) may be repeated in 1 week in patients without immunity Adverse effects: 1) abdominal pain 2) diarrhea 3) pruritus 4) dose-related prolongation of PR & QTc Drug interactions: - other agents that prolong the QT interval 1) quinine 2) quinidine 3) mefloquine
