Golgin subfamily A member 4; 256 kD golgin; Golgin-245; protein 72.1; trans-Golgi p230 (GOLGA4)

Function: - may play a role in delivery of transport vesicles containing GPI-linked proteins from the trans-Golgi network through its interaction with MACF1 - interacts with ARL1 with bound GTP - interacts with MACF1 Structure: - homodimer - extended rod-like protein with coiled-coil domains - contains 1 GRIP domain Compartment: - cytoplasm - Golgi membrane Alternative splicing: - named isoforms=3 - additional isoforms seem to exist Pathology: - antibodies against GOLGA4 are found in sera from patients with Sjogren's syndrome & hepatitis B
