glomerulonephropathy; glomerulopathy

Etiology: 1) glomerulonephritis 2) diabetic nephropathy 3) amyloidosis 4) drug-induced glomerular injury [5] 5) minimal change disease 6) thin glomerular basement membrane disease 7) obesity-related glomerulonepropathy Differential diagnosis: - minimal change disease - nephrotic syndrome, children. Rx with prednisone - focal segmental glomerulosclerosis - nephrotic syndrome - obesity, premature birth, blacks - Rx with weight reduction, ACE inhibitor, mycophenolate, rituximab - thin glomerular basement membrane disease (hematuria Rx with ACE inhibitor) - membranous glomerulonephritis - nephrotic syndrome, whites, elderly. Rx after trial of spontaneous recovery
