Glasgow-Blatchford score

Indications: - pre-endoscopy prediction of morbidity & mortality from upper GI bleed Procedure: Components: - systolic blood pressure - pulse - presentation with melena or syncope - history of hepatic disease or cardiac failure - hemoglobin in blood - blood urea nitrogen. Interpretation: - a score of <= 1 identifies very low risk patients who do not need hospitalization [1]
