gelatin (Jello)

A product of boiling collagen in water. Gelatin dissolves in hot water, but when allowed to cool, forms a substance commonly known as 'Jello'. Uses: 1) hemostat 2) plasma substitute 3) food substance, collagen & gelatin are poor-quality protein since they do not contain all the essential amino acids
