Epidemiology:
- more common in women than men
- individual usually tall & thin [2]
Pathology:
- abnormal downward displacement of the stomach
- not life-threatening
Clinical manifestations:
- may be asymptomatic
- belching
- abdominal distension
- constipation
Radiology:
- upper GI series with barium contrast [2]
Management:
- physical exercises to strengthen the abdominal muscles
- massage manipulations [2]
