Function: - associates with cyclin G & CDK5 - seems to act as an auxilin homolog that is involved in the uncoating of clathrin-coated vesicles by Hsc70 in non-neuronal cells ATP + a protein = ADP + a phosphoprotein Structure: - belongs to the protein kinase superfamily, Ser/Thr protein kinase family - contains 1 C2 tensin-type domain - contains 1 J domain - contains 1 phosphatase tensin-type domain - contains 1 protein kinase domain Compartment: - cytoplasm, perinuclear region - Golgi, trans-Golgi network - cell junction, focal adhesion (probable) Expression: - ubiquitous - highest in testis - expression oscillates slightly during the cell cycle, peaking at G1
