Epidemiology:
- found in 9% of asymptomatic young adults [1]
Pathology:
- 21% of young adults with pharyngitis
- twice as common as group A streptococcus [1]
- can cause Lemierre syndrome
Management:
- azithromycin is not effective against F necrophorum
