Indications:
- fungal infection
Specimen:
1) aerobic specimen (any site)
2) urine or sputum should be obtained upon awakening
3) minimum volume: 1 mL or as specified by site
4) container:
-> sterile, non-leaking container with a tight-fitting cap
Notes:
1) specimen should be transported to the microbiology laboratory within 1 hour of collection
2) avoid contamination with normal flora from the skin, rectum, vaginal tract or other body surfaces
