Indications:
- prevention of bronchospasm in patients with COPD or asthma
Contraindications:
1) NOT for treating symptoms of acute asthma (use albuterol)
2) not for use in treating asthma without an inhaled glucocorticoid
Dosage:
1) 2 puffs BID (9 mg/day)
2) 2 puffs 15 minutes prior to exercise
dry powder inhaler
Performist: for nebulizer [3]
Pharmacokinetics:
- similar onset of action to albuterol, faster than salmeterol
Mechanism of action:
-> selective beta-2 agonist
