follicle center lymphoma, grade II (follicular mixed small & large cell lymphoma)
Low-grade lymphoma.
Classification:
1) working formulation
-> follicular, mixed small cleaved cell & large cell
2) Rappaport
-> nodular, mixed lymphocytic histiocytic
3) Lukes-Collins
-> FCC*, small cleaved & large cleaved
4) Kiel
-> centroblastic-centrocytic lymphoma, follicular
* FCC: follicular center cells
Epidemiology:
-> small % of follicular lymphomas
Pathology:
1) neoplastic B-cells
2) 20-50% of follicular cells (see follicular small cleaved cell lymphoma) are large cells
3) may not be distinct form
4) may be slightly more aggressive form of follicular small cleaved cell lymphoma
Management:
1) see follicular center lymphoma
2) combination chemotherapy is controversial
a) C-MOPP
b) CHOP
