Origin:
-> common flexor origin of the medial condyle of the humerus
Insertion:
1) anterior surface of the 2nd metacarpal bone
2) fibers generally attach to the anterior surface of the 3rd metacarpal as well
Action: flexes & abducts wrist radially
Innervation: median nerve
Course: The tendon of the flexor carpi radialis travels in its own canal roof by a layer of the transverse carpal ligament.
