1) interventions than included balance exercises reduced incidence of falls 17% in community-dwelling elderly
2) strength & endurance exercises were less effective in reducing falls
3) in a home-based study of women age >= 80 years, a home- based program of strength & balance exercises resulted in a decreased incidence of falls at 1 & 2 years
