FCH domain
A short N-terminal conserved region of about 60 amino acids found in protein involved in the regulation of cytoskeletal rearrangements, vesicular transport & endocytosis. It is followed by a coiled-coil region.
Proteins containing an FCH domain include:
1) protein kinases with an SH2 domain:
a) Fps/fes proto-oncogene proteins
b) Fes related protein (fer)
2) adaptor proteins with a C-terminal SH3 domain:
a) Schizosaccharomyces pombe CDC15 protein
b) CD2 cytoplasmic domain binding protein
c) mammalian Cdc42-interacting protein 4 (CIP4)
d) ammalian PACSIN proteins
3) RhoGAP proteins
