- hepatobiliary insufficiency
- choledocholithiasis (gallstones)
- pancreatic cancer
- primary sclerosing cholangitis
- increased intestinal motility
- short bowel syndrome
- inflammatory bowel disease
- celiac disease
- abetalipoproteinemia
- bacterial overgrowth
- cystic fibrosis
- Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
- giardiasis
- Graves' disease / hyperthyroidism
- pharmaceutical agents
- Orlistat
- octreotide
- lanreotide
Specimen:
- 72 hour stool collection with the patient on a diet of 100g fat/day
