In reference to not having eaten.
Indications:
- overnight fast may reduce risk of breast cancer recurrence
- fasting fewer than 13 hours per night associated with 36% increased risk for breast cancer recurrence, compared with longer overnight fasts [1]
- longer overnight fasts also associated with lower HgbA1c
- intermittent fasting affects general health indicators & slows or reverses aging 7 disease processes
- early day fasting mobilizes fat tissue [4]
Contraindications:
- every other day fasting no better than daily calorie restriction for weight reduction & maintenance [2]
