A feeling of well-being, not necessarily well-founded. Etiology: -> pharmaceutical agents - baclofen (Lioresal) - cocaine - cortisol or hydrocortisone (Cortef, Solu-Cortef, ..) - dexamethasone (Decadron, Maxidex, AK-Dex) - dextromethorphan - diacetylmorphine (heroin) - flumazenil (Romazicon, Mazicon) - lidocaine (Xylocaine) - meprobamate (Equanil, Miltown) - methadone (Dolophine, Methadose) - methylprednisolone (Medrol Solu-Medrol, Depo-Medrol) - methysergide (Sansert) - modafinil (Provigil) - morphine - olanzapine (Zyprexa) - oxycodone (Roxicodone, OxyContin, OxyIR, OxyFast) - prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone, Liquid Pred, Meticortin) - triamcinolone (TAC, Aristocort, ..) - ethanol * NEJM considers euphoria an exclusive feature of mania & bipolar 1 disorder [2]
