Etiology: - unknown - may be associated with a) nutritional deficiency b) eosinophilia c) genetics Epidemiology: - occurs mainly in west & central Africa Pathology: - endocardial fibrosis of the apices of the cardiac ventricles Management: 1) warfarin for documented cardiac thrombus 2) endomyocardectomy (palliative)
