ectropion

A rolling outward of margin of eyelid. Etiology: - weakness muscles of the lower lid a) orbicularis oculi b) inferior tarsal muscle Pathology: - age-related degeneration of periocular tissues [3] Clinical manifestations: 1) rolling outward of margin of eyelid 2) often accompanied by dry eyes 3) watery eyes may occur Management: 1) artificial tears 2) lubricating ointment 3) antibiotic (ophthalmic) if indicated 4) consult to ophthalmology for surgery
