Examples: 1) Neisseria meningitidis (1st 24 hours of therapy) [1] 2) Haemophilus influenzae 3) multidrug-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae 4) Bordetella pertussis 5) adenovirus* 6) rubella 7) mumps 8) influenza * contact precautions & droplet precautions for adenoviru Methods: 1) private rooms 2) face mask or surgical mask worn within 3 feet of patient
