proprioceptive impairment

Etiology: - fatigue - rapid growth, adolescence - rapid weight gain, anabolic steroids - rapid weight loss, liposuction - habituation to a continuously present stimulus - overdose of vitamin B6 (reversible) - vitamin B12 deficiency - phantom limb syndrome - Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Clinical manifestations: - gait ataxia - possible steppage gait - wide-based, unsteady, uncoordinated gait, especially without vision - may adopt foot slap to increase sensory feedback
