dissociative amnesia with dissociative fugue

Clinical manifestations: - defects in self identity & recall of past events - patients may not remember personal, social or occupational information - inability to recall personal information of a traumatic or stressful event - ability to learn new information intact - often involves wandering or unplanned travel Differential diagnosis: - dissociative identity disorder, multiple personality disorder - transient global amnesia (middle age or older adults, disorientation) - PTSD - intrusive symptoms associated with the trauma
