Indications:
- tool for assessing patients with rheumatoid arthritis at any point in their disease course
Procedure:
- complex equation involving:
a) tender joint count
b) swollen joint count
c) patient assessment of general health by a visual analog scale
d) measurement of ESR or serum CRP
Notes:
- the DAS28 is a shorter, simpler version more practical for clinical use
