Indications: (uses)

4) anti-aging, especially as component of Centrophenoxine
5) memory enhancement
Mechanism of action:
- precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine
- may increase levels of acetylcholine in the CNS
- increases cellular membrane phospholipids
- claims:
a) allegedly improves memory
b) has a mentally stimulating effect
c) improves general cognition
- little, if any, definitive data to suggest benefit

- found in nature, especially in fish
- produced in the human brain
