dextrocardia
Congenital anomaly with the viscera reversed so that the heart is on the right side (a mirror image of the normal).
Etiology:
- ciliary dyskinesia (15%)
Genetics:
- associated with defects in DNAH11
Clinical manifestations:
1) patients are asymptomatic
2) apical impulse on right side
Special laboratory:
- electrocardiogram:
a) inverted P waves
b) inverted T waves
c) QRS negative in ECG lead I & lead II
Radiology: cardiac silhouette on right (mirror image)
