dermal melanocytic nevus (basal cell nevus)
Acquired, benign lesion with little potential for malignant transformation.
Pathology: (histology)
-> nests of melanocytes in dermis
Clinical manifestations:
1) dome-shaped, polypoid, pedunculated
2) skin-colored to black
3) may be indistinguishable from basal cell carcinoma
4) no crusting or ulceration
5) may have associated telangiectasias
6) stable size
7) soft
Management:
-> observation for change
