Carbamide peroxide otic (Debrox, Murine ear, Auro)

Tradenames: Debrox, Murine ear, Auro. Indications: - emulsification & dispersion of ear wax a) prior to ear lavage b) home use for patients with chronic cerumen impactation Dosage: 1) 5-10 drops BID for up to 4 days 2) allow dose to remain in ear for 15 minutes 3) follow by rinsing ear canal with warm water 30 mL bottle. Adverse effects: 1) irritation 2) superinfection Mechanism of action: - hydrogen peroxide loosens ear wax due to foaming action
