voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG)

Indications: - recurrent urinary tract infections, especially in children [3] - VCUG can demonstrate: a) urinary obstruction b) post void residual c) vesicoureteral reflux d) neuropathic bladder changes e) posterior urethral valves in males (fluoroscopic exam) Procedure: - radiograph with X-rays made during voiding with the bladder & urethra filled with contrast
