Indications: - infectious diarrhea due to - Salmonella, Shigella, Campylobacter Specimen: - rectal swab or fresh, randomly collected stool - minimum volume: 1 g of stool or 2 rectal swabs - container: a) plastic-coated cardboard cup or plastic cup with tight-fitting lid b) other leak-proof containers are acceptable Notes: -> if Vibrio species are suspected, the laboratory must be notified & appropriate collection & transport methods must be used
