cAMP-responsive element modulator (CREM)

Like CREB, CREM binds to CRE & to AP1 sites. In contrast to CREB, CREM down regulates cAMP-induced transcription. Also in contrast to CREB, expression is cell-specific. May form heterodimers with other CRE-binding proteins.
