ATP + creatine ADP + phosphocreatine
Structure:
- dimer of identical or non-identical chains
- MM being the major form in skeletal muscle (98-99%) & myocardium (60%)
- MB exists in myocardium (40%), skeletal muscle (1%)
- BB existing in many tissues, especially brain (90%)
- mitochondrial creatine kinases
a) sarcomeric/mitochondrial creatine kinase
b) ubiquitous/mitochondrial creatine kinase
