cough-variant asthma
Clinical manifestations:
- cough without other symptoms
Special laboratory:
- normal baseline spirometry
- positive provocation inhalation test
Differential diagnosis:
- rule out other causes of cough
- GERD
- ACE inhibitor
- smoking
- upper airway cough syndrome
Management:
- treat as asthma if reversible bronchoconstriction on provocation inhalation test
