coronary artery dissection
Epidemiology:
- spontaneous coronary artery dissection is the most common cause of pregnancy- associated myocardial infarction [1]
Clinical manifestations:
- occurs during pregnancy or in the 1st month post-partum
Special laboratory:
- electrocardiogram
- may show ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
Radiology:
- coronary CT angiography or coronary angiography
Differential diagnosis:
- coronary artery aneurysm with subsequent coronary artery thrombosis
- most common complication of Kawasaki disease
Management:
- if ST-segment elevation, percutaneous coronary intervention indicated
