Contraindications: - SAMSA recommends against the use of conversion therapy in LGBTQ youth Procedure: - aims to change a person's sexual orientation or gender identity or expression Notes: - same-sex sexual orientation is not a mental health disorder - no evidence that interventions can change a person's gender identity or sexual orientation - conversion therapy is coercive & can be harmful; it should not be part of behavioral health management [1]
