conscious sedation

'Light sedation' during which the patient retains airway reflexes & responses to verbal stimuli. Management: 1) Versed a) 1 mg IV slowly every 2-3 min up to 5 mg [1] b) 0.035-0.100 mg/kg [2] 2) Fentanyl a) 25-50 ug every 3-5 minutes, max 500 ug/4 hours [3] b) higher doses used for major surgery 3) Bendadryl 50 mg IV
